Josiah Team

Young Leaders Serving Healthcare

Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem…He did right in the sight of the LORD and walked in all the way of his father David, nor did he turn aside to the right or to the left. (1 Kings 22:1a, 2 NLT)

The Kardía Foundation's Josiah Team is a group of young leaders who have committed themselves in community to study leadership and the principles of serving alongside Kardía's President, Dr. Jeff Russell. Striving daily to live the axiom, "Serve to lead and lead to serve," they are transformed agents of transformation.

How the Josiah Team Works

"J Team" members all are in their 20s or 30s and most are former students of Dr. Russell. They serve Kardía in a variety of roles, including prayer ministry, social media, writing, and teaching. They meet monthly to participate in prepping the next generation of The Kardía Foundation's leadership training. If you would like to know more about the Josiah Team, you can write to Dr. Russell to inquire.

"Leadership isn't about knowing all the answers. Nor is it about being recognized, and given credit for something accomplished. Leadership is about serving, and loving others just as Jesus first loved us. It's about relinquishing control and trusting in God every step of the way."

"In leadership, similar to marriage, I am faced by the humbling and sanctifying reality of how my weaknesses and sin patterns can affect - and harm - others. In that context, I have no choice but to fully embrace the reality of grace - that His strength is made perfect in weakness.”
